Unwhelming Culture: Reclaiming your heritage

Linda: chica superpoderosa

Linda Solis is the youngest of six kids to a mom who was twice deported. She has lived between the white and Hispanic worlds in rural farming country and is learning to reclaim her heritage, her language, and her power. We'll talk with Linda about acting as a translator between languages, people, and cultures.

FEATURED BADASS GUEST

Linda strives to make people feel seen and heard. Her dream is for everyone in her community to feel they belong and they are loved.

Linda Solis is an expert in walking the lines between cultures, languages, and generations. A bilingual, multi-cultural, first-generation college graduate, Linda returned to Touchet, Washington, after graduation and since her return, she’s been giving back to the community that raised her. In roles from Volunteer Coordinator to Community Organizer, Linda has worked to increase diversity of voices and representation. As a navigator for the Washington Children’s Home Society, Linda shepherded vulnerable Spanish-speaking community members through a morass of programs and benefits to serve children and families.
